Location
The south end of Whitley Bay beach, in the North-East of England.
Getting there
The closest city is Newcastle upon Tyne. From Newcastle, you can get here by:
- Tyne and Wear Metro - get off at Whitley Bay. It's a 15 minute walk from there to the beach.
- Go NorthEast bus 308 or 309 - get off at Eastbourne Gardens, on the seafront.
There are several car parks nearby.
Time and date
We'll aim to set up at 10:00, after Parkrun finishes, and the incoming tide will determine when we finish.
High tide is areound 08:00, low tide is around 14:30.
Access
The event will be entirely outdoors and subject to the weather conditions.
It's a public beach and other people will be free to use it.
There will be an information stand up on the beach prom. Most of the activity will take place on the beach.
We're going to try to arrange for some beach-access wheelchairs to be available on the day.
